Smiling in your face….. Setting you up for the fall
Hi All and welcome back to Nikki’s corner. I know I have written in awhile but I am trying to rectify this. The title of this blog comes from working at my new job. See I have a co-worker who before I got there began to make his own executive decisions and since I have been there has been called on the carpet a few times. So now that I am new and one of my co-workers is new, he is proceeding to talk about us to other people about what we do or don’t do work wise. This is your perennial backstabber. Please understand. I am new to my job and though I am new, I am not stupid. There are things about my job I still do not understand. I do not do anything without consulting my boss and because of ced co-workers mistakes, the whole dept is feeling the heat. Yes I interact with my co-workers because human beings are social creatures. Sometimes do we talk too much? Sure but don’t let that fool you. I do work everyday and once I get the flow and hang of my job, lots of things will change. I told my boss I am a human sponge so do not worry about me not being able to learn. I want to be able to my job as well as my other co-workers in case they get sick or are on vacation. Makes sense right? When I first got to my job, MR BIG Mouth co-worker did not really speak to me but as of late he has. Reason? to find my weakness. My weakness? 
interaction. Can I control my talking hell ya? There are times in the cube where you can hear a pin drop meanwhile in the cubes around us, it seems people do not have too much to do. Do I trust this co-worker? of course not. He played his hand a lil too early and he facade is out there for the world to see. Will i protect my ass? You damn right I will. I like my new job and I plan on growing with this place. I dont play dirty. I play fair. So what do when you have a backstabber in your space? Filter what you want them to know and continue your behavior as you usually do. If you are friendly, stay that way. If you have been a recluse stay that way. The point is not let them see you coming.
