Today’s topic: To Thine own self be true
Hi All and Welcome back to Nikki’s corner. I love the fact the most of these topics are coming from just having regular discussions with people. Why are we not honest with ourselves? Is it really that hard to say no when you honestly know in your gut, it just isn’t going to work? Now, of course when talking to CEO’s and presidents, the usual term used is ” I will need to get back to you on that” but why in our personal lives, we just can’t say no?
I know there are some negative Nancy’s out there who always say no. I’m not talking to y’all cause being negative all the time is a miserable existence. I’m talking about your regular everyday person who feels that if they say no, they world will come to an end. First, it won’t and try and keep that in your head. Secondly, usually if that’s your first reaction, run with it. People always wanna ignore the gut but the gut tells no lies. There is a reason why your first reaction is no and even if you don’t understand it, stick to it.
Example: Significant other is supporting you. Significant other has an opportunity presented to them that will bring more money to support you so you can continue what you do. Problem, the opportunity is across the country. Significant other tells you, come out for a month to see if you actually like it. In other words, you aren’t to move all your shit, just come and see how you feel. You instead pack up everything and go cross country. 3 months later, you begin to hate it. Hated it since day one but now giving grief to your significant other who is not at a loss because they told you from the beginning what to do. This whole situation could be the deal breaker in the relationship since 1) they gave you the option and 2) they could have just stayed where they were and continued.
So whose the Idiot? Unfortunately, you are cause you didn’t heed the warning and ran. Too many times in our lives we do things and then regret it later. You from jump that it wasn’t going to work, so why put yourself out there.
Please listen to your inner voice and your gut. They are usually great indicators of what to do so you don’t suffer any regrets later.
That’s it for now.
Smooches,
Nikki

You are absolutely right about listening to one’s inner voice – it’s the best adviser when taking any serious decision – but it’s not always in peace with our brains or our heart. Still, it’ great if you trust your intuition and work on to make it stronger
You are right Valiko. You need to make your intiution stronger but that comes when you have confidence within yourself. Thanks for the comment
